Una caricatura de Raúl de la Nuez nos presenta al grupo , con atributos y símbolos cubanos, en lo que será la primera presentación de la banda británica en la isla, tras la visita de Obama.

El pintor, dibujante y director de arte Raul de la Nuez, artista norteamericano de origen cubano , que reside en EE UU, ha realizado una magnífica caricatura , con motivo de esta visita. Raúl recuerda cómo en su juventud, cuando él y sus colegas eran estudiantes de la Escuela Nacional de Arte, en la Habana, y en la época en que  el rock , era mal visto por las autoridades, escuchaban a escondidas sus canciones.

La caricatura personal

"Considero la caricatura personal -manifiesta Raul- el ejercicio más importante de la profesión humorística gráfica, es el don con que se nace ,  y desarrollamos en la práctica, es la actitud de analizar, profundizar en el alma y la mente de las personas, resumirlos y sintetizarlos en líneas, captar no solo sus rasgos físicos característicos del parecido, sino su mundo interior, lo que transmiten, su intelecto y quiénes son".

"La caricatura personal –añade- es una forma simpática de retratar, es captar la expresión,  que identifica a una persona con certeras líneas , y que sea fácil de reconocer a través de la distorsión o exageración de los rasgos,  que desvelen su personalidad. En particular,  no soy muy agresivo con mis dibujos, distorsiono sin pasar los límites ofensivos,  y utilizo símbolos que aporten elementos para conformar el perfil intelectual y psicológico del personaje".

"Cuando hago una caricatura personal,  estudio mucho el personaje  y analizo muchas cosas, antes de hacerla, es como cuando un paciente va al médico,  y éste lo escucha antes de dar su diagnóstico. Me enfoco más en la mirada, son los ojos los que transmiten los sentimientos,  y la personalidad de lo que hay detrás de la nariz,  y dentro de la mente, captar lo humano va más allá de unos trazos al azar. Los gestos de las manos, la sonrisa y la naturalidad son el objetivo  (el lente) para hacer una buena caricatura personal".

Raúl opina ,  que este concierto de los Rolling Stones en La Habana,  será un paso importante para la apertura internacional,  de un pueblo que quiere abrirse al mundo, y necesita cambios.

"Recuerdo muchas madrugadas –expresa- que pasé frente a la Ciudad Deportiva de Cuba , esperando el autobús que me llevara a mi pueblo natal, noches solitarias, vacias, silenciosas y frias, largas horas para pensar y soñar sin poder imaginarme , que algún día este lugar estaría lleno de un público exaltado,  participando de un concierto en vivo,  de los Rolling Stones".

"He dibujado –dice Raúl-  a casi todos los artistas más importantes de Rock, siento mucho por este género musical,  y lo escucho diariamente  mientras pinto. Hace un año incluí una caricatura de los Rolling en mi exposición "EvolucioNuez" en Miami, esta caricatura salió en el video clip de la canción "14 de febrero" , de Descemer el Bueno , y Omi en Habana 305 , y por supuesto se vio en Cuba, también la TV cubana , la está utilizando , en la promoción del concierto de los Rolling en la Habana.

"Para esta nueva caricatura –manifiesta- utilicé varios atributos,  y símbolos cubanos, una forma de ubicar al grupo musical , con atuendos conocidos de la tradición popular cubana, para esta ocasión de su concierto en la Habana, me pareció una forma simpática y divertida , de despojarlos de su pinta de Rockeros y vestirlos a la manera de la generación , que no los pudo disfrutar durante años, es como decir, los Rolling estaban entre nosotros. Esta caricatura fue transmitida en el programa AQP,  de América TeVe el 21 de marzo, en Miami".

Raul believes that this Rolling Stones concert in Havana will be an important step towards international openness, of a people that wants to open to the world, and needs changes.
